Biography

Tim Raybould BA (Hons)  Tim first became inspired to play guitar after watching a Led Zeppelin DVD. After a few lessons from RGT, Des Sherwood, he attended a local jam night where jammed with his friend Jack Bowles. Between them, they formed a rock band with two other friends and were sponsored by MAS records. Tim and Jack also formed an acoustic trio with another vocalist. A year or so later, at the age of 17, Tim’s guitar tutor recommended that Tim should audition for Dizzy Lizzy, an accomplished Thin Lizzy tribute band. The audition was a nerve-racking experience, as Brian Tatler from Diamond Head was present.

After a few gigs, he became a full time member, staying on as their other lead guitarist. The band tour extensively throughout the UK and Ireland and have also played in Germany, Netherlands, Greece and Abu Dhabi as well as playing at festivals to audiences in excess of 6000. One of the band’s greatest highlights has been performing in front of Philip Lynott’s mother, Philomena.

Tim has a Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance Industries and also holds a Foundation Degree in Music Performance. Tim has recently acquired a Distinction for Grade 5 Electric Guitar and is also registered with RGT. Tim began private tuition in early 2016 and currently tutors at Courtyard Music in Redditch.

His biggest inspirations are Jimmy Page, Scott Gorham, Gary Moore, Dan Hawkins, Rory Gallagher, Slash, Nile Rodgers and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
