Tim Raybould BA (Hons)
Tim Raybould’s passion for guitar was sparked after watching a Led Zeppelin DVD. He began formal lessons with Des Sherwood (RGT) and soon started performing at local jam nights with his friend Jack Bowles. Together, they formed a rock band with two other friends, eventually securing sponsorship from MAS Records. Tim and Jack also collaborated in an acoustic trio alongside a vocalist.
At age 17, Tim’s guitar tutor encouraged him to audition for Dizzy Lizzy, a well-established Thin Lizzy tribute band. The audition, attended by Brian Tatler of Diamond Head, was a nerve-wracking but pivotal experience. After a few performances, Tim became a full-time member of the band, taking on the role of co-lead guitarist. Dizzy Lizzy has since toured extensively across the UK, Ireland, Europe, as well as the Middle East. Career highlights include performing for Philomena Lynott, mother of Thin Lizzy frontman Philip Lynott, and receiving personal compliments from original members of Thin Lizzy.
In 2023, Tim joined rising rock band Traction, who are currently working on their second studio album. Their single “Boom” was released in June 2025 to widespread acclaim.
In addition to his work as a guitarist, Tim is also an experienced bass player. His versatility on both instruments has led to a wide range of performance opportunities over the years. In 2025, he joined Dirty/DC, one of the UK’s leading AC/DC tribute acts, taking on bass duties and further showcasing his musicianship.
Tim holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Music Performance Industries and a Foundation Degree in Music Performance. He is a registered tutor with the RGT and has been teaching privately since 2016. He currently tutors guitar at the Courtyard Music studio in Redditch.
Tim draws inspiration from iconic guitarists including Jimmy Page, Scott Gorham, Gary Moore, Dan Hawkins, Rory Gallagher, Slash, Nile Rodgers, and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
